Welcome to Bermuda. Relax, and enjoy your stay!
A relaxing and refreshing alternative to its southern neighbors in the Caribbean, Bermuda has long been the first choice for travelers looking for great service, outstanding weather, and a lot of local charm. Outdoor advertising and neon signs aren't allowed in Bermuda, so guests can rest assured that their stay will be peaceful and relaxing from the moment they set foot on the island.
Warmed by the Gulf Stream, Bermuda's subtropical climate is perfect for a vacation filled with outdoor activities and some quality time getting back to nature. Starting with the 36-acre Botanical Garden, first-time visitors will soon appreciate the natural beauty of the island that captivated famed artist Georgia O'Keefe and many others over the years. Many famous works inspired by Bermuda can be seen at the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art, located onsite at the Botanical Garden.
For those visitors whose historical interest is piqued by the oldest British overseas territory, many historic houses and churches are open to the public. The Bermuda Maritime Museum is located at Bermuda's largest fort, the Keep. Both are located on the edge of the Royal Navy Dockyard, itself finding new life with shops, restaurants and a variety of exhibits for tourists.
One of the most famous cultural traditions of Bermuda are the Gombey dancers, with their blend of West African, Native American and British colonial influences. This is a must for your itinerary if there is a performance when you're in town.
While Bermuda may be a great place for a relaxing vacation, there are plenty of active pursuits to keep our guests busy. Island residents are very proud of our golf courses, and this year we'll host the 27th PGA Grand Slam of Golf in October.
With excellent sailing, game fishing, skiing and parasailing, guests will have plenty of opportunity to take to our clear, turquoise waters as well. And for those who'd rather be underwater, the clear turquoise waters are a scuba diver's paradise, with many wrecks and coral reefs in relatively shallow water.
With so much to do packed into 20 square miles, you'll understand when Bermuda becomes the favored destination of so many travelers who appreciate the relaxed lifestyle, local charm and natural beauty of the island.
